After years of having the same design, your girl has finally updated her site! It's brighter, better and more "me"!

Q: What was your inspiration?

So I took inspiration from my laptops desktop design and photoshops interface. It's basically a combination of the two, mixed in with my vintage aesthetic and primary color palette. I love the primary colors and have been eager to integrate the colors throughout my website for a while now. Some of my favorite new elements are the folders, the VHS tapes used to display all of my Adobe Live Sessions, and the fun animations. I tried to not animate everything and create a nice, balance.

Q: What are some new things you'll be adding to SMW Visuals?

For starters, I will FINALLY be adding an online store directly in my website. It is long overdue, but it's time. I have had great success with third party sites such as Etsy and Shopify, but I would love for my collectors and community members to have everything in one place. My website is not just for my portfolio and gallery, it's everything that makes me, me. I don't think I'll remove my Etsy shop since it does have many benefits, but I may choose to do something differently with it. With my new shop, I can officially sell older works that people have been requesting as prints for YEARS. I may even start added merch, stickers, things that have different price ranges for everyone in my community.

I'll also be adding a Blog section, which you’ll see once you read this. I randomly stumbled upon the blog section while browsing the integrations Wix provides and thought, "why not start a blog? There are so many things I could talk about..."

My main priority for this website redesign was to build a fresh, new, organized foundation which included new fonts, a new color palette, and a new, fun flow that describes me as an artist, designer and as a person. As time goes on (well after I finish adding my store front), best believe I'll continue to expand my website and add more creative things!

Basically, if social media were to disappear (I know it won't, this is just a hypothetical), my community would still know where to find me, at SMWVISUALS.COM

Q: Is there anything new we should be looking out for?

YES! I will be officially releasing my new floral collage series Divine Renaissance soon. This project will be minted on the block-chain. But the end goal is for this collection to be my second solo exhibition, whether it's curated by a gallery or if I must take things into my own hands and curate it myself. It's happening regardless and I am beyond excited and so proud of this collection.
